Depends: Though extremely rare, a severely bulged disk can cause urinary problems that is almost always associated with numbess in the genitals and buttocks. With these types of symptoms, medical evaluation should be sought immediately.

Sometimes: Ruptured disk compressing the cauda equina nerves can cause problems with urinary retention (unable to pee) or urinary incontinence (unable to stop peeing). These disks are usually large. The urinary difficulties are usually associated with numbness in the butt and groin. This is a serious problem requiring immediate medical attention.
