Sometimes: Ruptured disk compressing the cauda equina nerves can cause problems with urinary retention (unable to pee) or urinary incontinence (unable to stop peeing). These disks are usually large. The urinary difficulties are usually associated with numbness in the butt and groin. This is a serious problem requiring immediate medical attention.
