Ask your Gyn: Options include shrinking the fibroid tumors with a gnrh agonist (lupron), optimizing your iron stores with supplements, make sure you understand pregnancy risks following a myomectomy (uterine cavity involvement vs not, rupture risks, sterility risks). Compare open vs laparoscopic recovery, blood transfusion options. These are all items your surgeon should discuss prior to your procedure.

Myomectomy: If you have a month to prepare try and optimize your health. I would discontinue any bad habits such as alcohol tobacco. I would start a good multivitamin with iron. If you are over weight try and lose a few pounds prior to the procedure. If you have any medical conditions diabetes etc follow up with your internist for a "tune up". It s a very common procedure. I am sure you are going to do well.
