Possible: You may be getting an abcessed tooth or infection. Sometimes swelling from an infected tooth can cause a feeling of numbness. See your dentist asap.

Maybe: When a tooth is left exposed without a sealed filling, decay can quickly progress into the nerve. Your symptoms may indicate the beginning of an abscessed tooth. See a dentist asap!
