Some considerations:: 1) Genes determine some but not all risk; 2) Same risks of heart disease (hypertension, hi triglyceride & cholesterol) raise diabetic risk; 3) Not everyone with type 2 diabetes is overweight or obese; 4) Risk rises with age, but's its never too late to make healthy changes; 5)The more you move, the better; 6) Heart-healthy diet can prevent/delay diabetes; 7) Reduce stress to lower risk.
