A member asked:

What causes burning sensation in thumb when i write ?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Median branch: Most likely a sensory branch of the median nerve is irritated and/or compressed. Sometimes this localized symptom can occur as a result of carpal syndrome in which the entire median nerve is compressed as it enters the palm beneath a thick ligament. Since writing is important, you probably should see a doctor to confirm this supposition.
