CTS?: Carpal tunnel syndrome is a common cause of morning hand and wrist symptoms. Often they include feeling cold, tight, tingly, swollen, etc. But, if the wrist really is swollen, then you need tolook elsewhere. Ganglion cyst problems? Even small fractures can occur in the wrist, causing pain.

Carpal tunnel?: If you perform a lot of repetitive work with your hands it could be carpal tunnel. If you you flex your thumb all the way and it hurts more it could be tenosynovitis (inflammation of a tendon sheath) or arthritis. Any weakness of grip strength, when opening jars? If yes, carpal tunnel is more likely.

Carpal tunnel: Possibly carpal tunnel, especially if you are prone to performing repetitive action with that wrist. Compression and irritation of the nerve results in the sort of symptoms you are describing. See a hand specialist.
