Yes: Swelling, bruising, discoloration around the surgical site and into the scrotum can frequently occur, and resolves over several weeks. More swelling is common if the hernia was larger or if it was present for a long time before the surgery. Be sure that you are having proper post-operative follow up with your surgeon.
