A member asked:

I had a bronchial scope done results were strep infection in my lungs. what does that mean?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Pneumonia: If they scoped you it was probably to look for some foreign material that might be plugging an airway or to get access to an area so they could get a specimen from. Streptoccus is a family of germs, many of which are causes of infections. Streptococcus pneumonia is a common cause of pneumonia. It is generally responsive to many antibiotics.
