Nobody knows: I am sorry about your dad's situation. On average , the 5 year survival rate for a stage IV stomach ca is +/- 4-5%. On average, w/ tx, it would be around 1-2 yr. When it is called inoperable- that could be due to the stage or could be other factors-like age, overall health condition etc. Those information and others like-response to treatment, biology of ca are useful to analyse life expectancy.

Ask his docs: Sorry about your dad. There is improving methods of identifying how much time someone may have (on average) and if your dad wants to know that he should continue discussing with his docs. Most chemotherapy might extend prognosis by a few months (might be called 'palliative chemotherapy' or 'salvage chemotherapy'). However if near the end it can shorten prognosis. Ask for palliative medicine help.
