See below: Urinalysis is useful in multiple ways: specific gravity (density) is high in dehydration; presence of glucose and ketones can be a sign of diabetes; excess amount of protein can be a sign of kidney diseases; peculiar smell or discoloration can indicate certain metabolic disease.
