Depends: Sporadic smoking can cause sore throat. Any amount of smoking can cause an increase in mucus production that could be off-white, greenish, brownish or clear. If you are feeling fine otherwise, then you most likely don't have a cold virus. If however you have a fever, chills, disruptive cough or other concerns, then you could have a cold or pneumonia and should see a healthcare provider.
