Sports Clearance: Pre-participation physical exams screen patients to make sure it is safe to play. The general rule is that any health problems that are identified have been addressed and are under current treatment. Additionally, physical exam should confirm that there are no historic or current injuries that would preclude an athlete from play.

Med. exam: Usually a general physical exam with muscle and relex testing is enough to determine if you are fit enough to participate.
