Unclear: Sometimes people can have reactions to certain foods or drinks and get a tingly or even numb sensation around the mouth. I've never heard of it happening just on one side of the face. Since it only happens each time you sugar or candy, it's probably not dangerous, but you may want to get a neurologists opinion and see if they can offer any insight.
