Rising Blood Counts: I assume you mean your white count rose to 18, 500, from a normal of 10, 000 in less than a week. Without knowing the rest of your history, it is hard to answer conclusively. Are you being treated for an illness? If not, that degree of elevated white count either indicates an infection or a blood dyscrasia, and needs to be thoroughly investigated.

Nearly so: All laboratory results need to be interpreted in the clinical context and the doctor who ordered the tests is usually in the best position to do that. Talk to the doctor who ordered the tests. Having said that, the HCG level should double every 2-3 days. See your doctor to rule out ectopic pregnancy.
