Fertility ?'s: A rising HCG level does certainly indicate pregnancy, and at the gestational dates cited ("5 plus weeks") it is too early to assume a doubling of HCG three days subsequent to the cited "1402" level. Wait a week to ten days, and repeat the HCG and perhaps a pelvic ultrasound to evaluate location of the pregnancy. Pregnancy outside the uterus (ectopic) should be ruled out, also.
