No: If your doctor prescribes special needs, current law requires accomodation.This is not true for a private school.

Section 504: Classroom accommodations for medical disability or different ability are mandatory under section 504 of the american rehabilitation act for all schools who receive public funding. Find an advocate from a local parent support group to go with you to a meeting with the school nurse, teacher and principal. If that doesn't work, call the school district superintendent and the head of school nurses.
