Increases before ...: Spinnbarkeit is the 'stretchy' egg-white-like quality of cervical mucus which occurs before ovulation. You can estimate this by stetching some mucus between your thumb and pointer finger. After ovulation cervical mucus gets thick and is not stretchy. Using an ovulation predictor kit is more accurate than tracking mucus changes - if you have regular cycles, start testing on day 10.
