Yes: As women age they may skip ovulation now and then. If that becomes more regular that is called oligoovulatory (less than expected) and if it stops for prolonged periods of time that is called annovulation. There are a variety of causes for this, not just your ovaries failing. So, if you think this is happening see your GYN for an evaluation. Menopause is the complete cessation of ovulation.
