A member asked:

Can a vitamin b12 deficiency cause permanent nerve damage?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

If not treated: B-12 deficiency can cause peripheral neuropathy, problems with spinal cord dysfnctn (poor vibration and position sensations), and cognitive problems to the brain. Much may be reversible, but without timely treatment, problems will be persistent. 1000 mcg injections per month should suffice.
