Seek help: By asking this is a start. Many chronic alcoholics need help with their disease, no different than a person who needs help with diabetes or cancer. They just have different treatements. Try an aa meeting, talk to a doctor or counselor that works with addictions, if withdrawals are a concern may need medical managment. Medications can help. Asking for help while difficult wont kill you, alcohol wil.

What are you : Willing to do? I agree w dr. Blixt. The question is do you want to do anything about your alcoholism. If you don't want to change anything than the alcohol will kill you or drive you crazy. If you do want to change, encourage you to consider options like working a 12 step program (alcoholics anonymous), working with an addiction medicine specialist or an inpatient alcohol rehabilitation program.
