Many causes: There are many causes for chronic liver disease from congenital to infectious ( previous infection with Hep B or C mostly). An increasing cause is the so called non alcoholic fatty liver disease, believed to be related to obesity, diabetes and or thyroid disorder. You may benefit from seeing a gastroenterologist specialization my in liver disease.
