can i have seizures if i drink alot over my friend's birthday weekend and then stop? or is this only caused when a chronic alcoholic suddenly stops?

It depends..: Most of the ones who suffer seizures are heavy drinkers either continuous or binge drinkers. The seizures usually occur after 48 hours of stopping. Now, if your are on medications such as Wellbutrin (bupropion) that can the lower seizure threshold, you could also suffer a seizure.
