Examination: You should have a qualified professional examine your tongue and tonsilar area for anything causing such a specific question. Ear pain may be related or not. In fact many people complain of ear pain when it is really adjacent tissue, such as their TMJ (jaw joint) causing their pain. I suggest scheduling an exam asap.

See Your Doctor: From your description it is impossible to give a diagnosis. A medication can be the cause. An erupting third molar (if you haven't had then out) or a dental abscess may give that symptom. A benign or cancerous tumor on the tongue, floor of mouth or gum is also possible. A blocked saliva gland can do it. See your dentist to see if any of these are possible and they may refer you to a physician.
