Not much to do.: The tiny nerves that go from the nose to the brain that give sense of smell were probably torn with the injury. That does not show up on mri. These nerves do not regenerate so there is little chance of regaining sense of smell. Taste is made up largely of sense of smell so that is why things don't taste good either.
