Neuroma: A neuroma ( growth on the nerve) causes the symptoms you describe. Celebrex (celecoxib) will often help.

Neuropathy : Many diabetic patients develop neuropathy. The increased sugar levels in the blood are toxic to the nerves. These patients often have your symptoms. There are other causes of neuropathy and these should be investigated. Metanx , neuremedy are oral pills that are for neuropathy. A biopsy of the skin looking at the small nerves could be done.
