A member asked:

Which is more affective pain management of a gouty foot flare-up, naproxen or celebrex (celecoxib)? (along with colchicine) allipurinol already prescribed.

Probably naproxen: Naproxen has been used for many years to treat acute episodes of gout-colcichine has been used longer but has more side effects if pushed.Celebrex (celecoxib) is an N SAID too but used more for having less gastrointestinal side effects. So the person who knows best with your history is the prescribing. Doctor.

Probably the...: naproxen. Celebrex (celecoxib) is better for long-term management of inflammatory conditions
