Too much too fast: Although considering going on a diet is a reasonable idea most experts counsel that trying to lose more than 1 to 2 pounds per week will lead to very rapid weight regain. I would recommend speaking to a dietitian or other counselor about a good plan for decreasing calories and increasing physical activity that is tailored to your situation and ability. There are also some good online resources including ones from weight watchers.
