Yes it can be: A painful scar unfortunatley can be a common thing after an injury. Depending on the area that was injured, it could be caused by a cut or injured nerve. If is simply a nuisance to you, i would let it go. However, it the pain is significant or getting worse, please see an experienced plastic surgeon that is expert in hand surgery.
