Biopsied?: Are these different interpretations of a radiologic abnormality, e.g. Abnormal chest xray or ct? Or did the surgeon have tissue? Any change from old films (cancers grow more rapidly than other abnormalities, including hamartomas)? Size of abnormality? Symptoms? Smoker-current or ex? All are factors in making decision re: mass lesions. Did the docs talk to each other? That is key to decide.

Depends: This depends on the size of the nodule and its characteristics on ct. Presence of fat and popcorn like calcifications in the nodule may suggest a harmatoma. If the nodule was present on a prior chest xray or ct, it would suggest benignity. Is it possible one doctor has access to your old studies & the other doctor doesn't. A pet/ct study would be useful as most harmatoma are benign on pet.
