A member asked:

Odds of pulmonary embolus if ultrasound shows clot in leg or pelvis?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

High: If untreated, thrombosis in the veins of the legs or pelvis has a very high risk of embolizing to the lungs almost certainly > 90%. If the clot is confined to the small veins of the calf below the knee, these may resolve on their own without specific treatment.
