Yes: In fact, the usual way in which one catches epstein-barr mononucleosis is by kissing someone who may have had it some time ago and is shedding the virus once again. It would be a sad world if folks didn't kiss each other. Good luck.

Maybe: If you have never had it, you are likely to develop it after exposure to any saliva or sexual fluids of someone in their contagious phase. Most are very contagious in the days prior to diagnosis and for 2-3 weeks thereafter. Many adults had it in childhood when it was a milder condition & often not recognized as more than a "virus". If you had it earlier in life you would be immune.
