Ask your dentist: It would be ill advised to discuss dosage or type of antibiotic without better information.

Depends on your case: For a mild dental infection usually 500 mg tablet 3 times a day. For more severe, then Augmentin (amoxicillin and clavulanate) can be prescribed which has amoxicilin. However, your dentist will have to examine your mouth with xrays.

Depends: It depends on the type and degree of infection. For an average dental abscess, on an average sized adult, 500 mg, every 6 hrs., for 7-10 days is normal. However Amoxicillin is not always the best choice. Only the examining dr., should determine type and dose of antibiotic!

See a Dentist: I can't imagine the doctor not giving you specific instructions for antibiotics. This leads me to believe you have 'extra' lying around the house and are 'self medicating' yourself. That being said, how do you know it's a dental infection, and how do you know that Amoxicillin in the proper antibiotic if you do indeed need one? Go see a dentist and let them treat you properly.
