?Hydrocele of cord: Disappears with surgical removal. Groin lump after which develops denovo after hydrocele surgery could be due to a bleed related to the surgery, post operative wound infection or enlarged groin lymph node/s. Consult your urologist either way.

Depends: If the hydrocele is in a newborn about 75-80 % will resolve by 12-18 months of life. If it fails to resolve then surgery can treat it. If the hydrocele arises later in life then it is unllikely to resolve spontaneously, hence surgery can correct it.
