How long does irritability associated with sepsis last?

Variable: There can be a delirium that occurs with sepsis especially as a person becomes older that is quite distressing to family members. It can last as long as 2 weeks depending on the overall severity of the episode of illness. A few days is not uncommon in hospitalized patients.
