Could be a large : Centrally herniated disc and/or spinal stenosis but this is assuming you are lying either on your back or on your stomach as your spine is in extension which narrows the spinal canal leaving less room available for the nerve tissue within it. For other diagnoses like a tumor or infection, pain can be worse at night as well. It is worth getting this evaluated by your doctor.
