What can a nursing mother take for a fever?

Tylenol (acetaminophen) or Ibuprofen: You may take tylenol (acetaminophen) or Ibuprofen (motrin, advil) for fever or pain while you are nursing. It is a good idea to ask your doctor to check before taking any medication while breast feeding.

Try Tylenol (acetaminophen): Acetaminophen (tylenol) can be taken by otherwise healthy nursing mother. High dose or frequent use of Acetaminophen can cause damage to liver. Women with low bodyweight, poor nutrition and low blood protein/albumin may be at higher risk.
