Minor-No: If it is thal;lasemia minor, not really. This is an inherited condition where the patient is always showing a low hemoglobin or red blood count. It is totally benign. Thalessemia major is a serious disease which should have had serious consequences alredy.

Agree with Dr.D: Thalassemia minor or trait is not problematic other than microcytic anemia. Knowing if one has thalassemia minor is important to avoid unnecessary investigations. Thalassemia major requires repeated blood transfusion, though gene therapy is being tried on an experimental basis.
