Speak to the doctor.: Unfortunately, some patients can have severe pain and discomfort with a ureteral stent, requiring symptomatic relief with pain medication & anti-inflammatory drugs. But if the pain is new or sudden, there may be concern for stent migration which is rare but can occur. And if you have a fever, infection is a worry and requires evaluation and treatment.
