Several ways: For most, it begins with what the back symptoms mean and then usually some changes in lifestyle like exercise, weight control, smoking cessation and improved sleeping habits as well as modifying activities that can provoke a backache. Heat and/or ice can help for the pain as well as use of over the counter medication . A simple back support can also be of use.
