Hemolysis: Enlarged spleen is usually seen in anemia whenthe rbc is fragile. Many disorders can cause this. Fragile rbcs can then be broken down in the spleen (a process referred to as hemolysis). This causes different levels of anemia and an enlarged spleen. Often jaundice can be seen as well.
