Sometimes: Some people are sensitive to the color temperature or flicker from fluorescent lights. Warmer bulbs can help.

Fluorescent: A fluorescent bulb emits ultraviolet rays, which can harm the eye. Make sure the light has a plastic cover to block some of this radiation, and do not spend a lot of time staring at the light.
