A member asked:

Does suboxone contain iodine that will affect my thuroid test and scan?

No: The active ingredient is: Buprenorphine (bupe), which is an opiate. Suboxone contains bupe plus a blocker called naloxone. Subutex contains only bupe. Neither forms contain iodine. I guess i wonder why you would not discuss this with the dr who ordered the test, unless you're taking it without a prescription? If so, you really should find a bupe provider. It's a felony to have it without a rx.

No: Suboxone does not contain iodine and should not effect your thyroid scan or test.
