Orthopedist: Unless you know you have rheumatoid arthritis or a similar condition, an orthopedist is usually best equipped to provide you with the widest range of treatment options. In the event an orthopedist instead suspected you have rheumatoid arthritis instead of osteoarthritis, then he/she could order labs to screen for this condition.

Either one: May help depending upon what you are seeking. A rheumaolotgist may offer more agressinve medications but a orthopedist may offer surgery. Both can offer some treatment. Talk to your pcp perhaps to help choose.
