300 Kcal more.: Only 300 kcals more in comparison to women pregnant with singleton fetus are needed for women carrying twins (i.e. 600 kcals more than non-pregnant women of similar size). Please note, however, that the twins with the best outcomes are born to women with the most weight gain during pregnancy (up to 55 lbs).
