Yes but not carefree: Breast implants, like any other surgical procedure should be performed by an experienced individual in a patient who has been informed of the risks, alternatives and benefits. Implants require care and maintenance including regular follow ups and routine breast cancer screening as in any other female. Other alternatives such as fat transfer do exist and may be considered as alternatives.

Breast implants safe: Yes, they are very safe. But they do have risks associated with them, just as any device or surgical procedure does. Be sure to see a surgeon who is certified by the american board of plastic surgery.

Safety: Breast implants are safe but not without risks such as the risk of the need for further surgery. They are not forever. The surgery can be designed to minimize the potential need for further surgery, but that need cannot be eliminated.

Implants are safe: Breast implants are extremely safe and have been used for approximately 50 years. They all will have to be changed out in time at some point. Also radiologists are quite good now at reading mammograms in patients with implants plus they use ultrasound and MRI to achieve cancer screening "surveillance" for women with breast implants.

Yes- w/ a BC- PS!: Breast implants are among the most studied medical devices ever by the fda. They have been shown to be safe and not related to the systemic concerns of the 70s/80s. Each generation of implant improves its shell /type of implant material making it longer lasting. Plastic surgeons no longer recommend routine replacement. Mris are required at 3 years and every 2 after. See a board certified ps!

Safe, I believe: This topic has been deabted and there are many stories on the internet about silicone implants and the lawsuits of the early 1990's. I believe, based on the information the fda has reviewed, that silicone implants are safe and would have no problem if my wife, mother or sister wanted to have silicone implants.

Safe Breast Aug: Yes, breast augmentation is a safe procedure. Silicone implants are also back on the market after extensive research to show that these are safe as well. There are risks to any procedure, however, and these should be discussed thoroughly with your plastic surgeon.

Yes.: Breast implants are the most studied device that surgeons place in a patients body. The institute of medicine study and over 400 peer reviewed studies all show that implants are safe. If they were not, we would not put them in. Best to speak with your board certified plastic surgeon. He/she will answer your questions. http://www.jjrothmd.com/procedures/breast-augmentation.
