Inversely related : Untreated hypertension is associated with increased mortality and decreased quality of life. Htn affects heart, brain, blood vessels, kidneys, just about every organ system. What makes it more dangerous is its invisibility (it's often asymptomatic). If you're hypertensive be sure to follow your doctor's treatment plan to include healthy eating, exercise, weight loss and medication.
