Depends on the sourc: Protein is perfectly safe for cholesterol and heart health. However, there are varying sources of protein, including plant/bean sources and fish sources. On the other hand, meat sources of protein sometimes have high saturated fat or cholesterol content (e.g. Red meats), and in those cases it may lead to elevated cholesterol if large amounts of these are eaten.
