ALT and AST: Both these enzyme also might be released from muscle cell which might happen with heavy exertion. I remember the days that high ast was considered to be checked in patient suspected of heart attack, which is damage to heart muscle and release of this enzyme to blood. Bottom line is ast, alt are not specific for liver.
