Orthodontics: Cross bites on one or more sides of your mouth are correct by expanding the jaw. If you are an adolescent the dentist will place a rmovalbe or cement in an appliance to widen the jaw. Braces normally follow the appliance to continue moving teth in to normal position.

Orthodontics: That's what orthodontists do all day long every day. Depending on severity there are many treatment modalities. See a qualified orthodontic specialist (not a gp who dabbles in tooth movement) to asses severity of your malocclusion and prescribe the best rx plan for hour individual needs.
