Depends: Many people start to see an effect from antibiotics within 24-48 hours. Obviously, this depends on how bad the infection is to begin with, where the infection is, etc. And your symptom resolution will be different depending on what type of infection you have. The doc who prescribed you the amox, is the best person to ask about the timecourse of your particular illness.
